Personal Diary Cluster Headaches Day 2 – Finally Found A Treatment That Will Work

Friday morning, very early, it’s only 2.30 am and my husband gets out of bed. Like expected the cluster headache attack that was lingering all day the day before finally broke through. We start the same method like we did the day before and he starts drinking his water while he crawls away in a dark space where he’s alone and doesn’t hear or see anything.

Natural cure for cluster headaches

Cluster headaches, one of the most feared headaches there are. If you never had them, or don’t know anyone that has them, it’s not that strange. Only 1 out of 1000 persons suffers from this condition. Because of the low number of patients, it isn’t a condition that is well researched and doctors and pharmacist haven’t found a cure yet. They will prescribe strong pain medication and it won’t always work as good as we would hope for. The last years they found that oxygen treatment is one of the best pain relief methods for cluster headaches, but not all doctors will prescribe it at the first signs of cluster headaches.

Personal Diary Cluster Headaches Day 1 – The Beast Is Back

Thursday morning 4.20 am, my husband wakes up with a terrible headache attack. It’s there, we have been waiting on it since December (as he normally has an active period then), but now in April it’s finally there. Luckily we know what to do and we work like an olied machine. He goes somewhere where it’s really dark while I put everything ready he needs. A bucket for when his stomach starts getting upset and a bottle of water to start his water treatment. It worked the last time to reduce the number of attacks so we start again this time. When the attack is finished he calls his job as he won’t be working today, the first few days he always feels terrible so he won’t be working for the rest of the week.

Welcome to the Cluster Headache Blog

Hi,

As you can see on this site, cluster headache is one of the most severe headaches someone can suffer from. My husband, for example, has this desease for almost 10 years. Two times every year, for 6 to 8 weeks, he will wake up at night, screaming from all the pain he has. And those attacks will repeat themselves during the day. In the peek of the cluster period he will have up to 5 attacks a day, and while they are happening the only thing I can do is assure him that it will pass, ’cause that’s the only thing that will keep him sane.
